love the brown & white, bill -- very appropriate for nyc snow!

If I had the money, I would buy a print of this and put it in my place. In fact, when I MAKE money, I will. Its beautiful.

this is lovely. it looks like something out of a period movie about NYC. timeless snow and sepia tones

An old roommate of mine once observed: Snow makes New York something it is not--nor does it try to be--and that is slow and quiet. Even with the relative chaos of all those fire escapes, the clutter of the back yards, there is a serenity that only comes with a winter storm.

I had to look up Atget of course. But then found a photo or two that I recognized. It was a pleasure. The difference that sticks out most to me is the technology implied by all the antenna and wires. The lines in the tree and those in the stairs and railings seem to echo it. It does appear that time have become busier. And that's pretty darned accurate of the world in general.
