You can import RAW files from CamRanger to your iPad–just a follow up on the iPad discussion this week. Though when you buy an iPad you really should not need a $300 accessory to view RAW files.

The CamRanger could certainly do the job, but that’s not REALLY what it’s intended for.

And I agree.. to have to spend $300 to get that kind of basic functionality.
Overall, I’ll stick with a real laptop with a real OS and real Photoshop when I travel.

    Hi Bill,

Thanks for bringing up my question to Jeffrey re: Ryan McGinnley. Apologies for not using my real name (Eric Perlberg, http://www.ericperlberg.com & dailies at Flickr.) but I’m registered at Disqus as Relentlessfocus (having nothing to do with photography, rather something Steve Jobs once said) since years. I hadn’t given it a thought.

While I don’t share Jeffrey’s attraction to McGinnley’s work I have no problem with his answer. When something speaks to you, it does and that’s what art is for. I find RG’s work very commercial, I would expect to find him shooting Fatface advertisements or some other outdoorsy magazine spread so I was curious to hear why Jeffrey was so enthusiastic. Oh well.
